Pride is a plant that does not grow well in the shadow of the cross.
At the root of every sin is pride. Because of pride we put our wants and needs ahead of anything and everybody else, which is contrary to what was done on the cross for you. As you grow to become more like Christ, the goal is to humbly leave behind more of yourself. When people look at you, who do they see? A pride-full you, or an imperfect person striving each day to be more Christ like?
James 4:6 – “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
