Draw Near to God

If you want to live each day free from the guilt, shame and sorrow that comes from habitual sin, then you have to learn to draw near to God, listening to His voice speaking truth; and directing your paths.
Hebrews 10:22 “Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.”

Contentment Through Christ Alone!

We have to learn to rely completely on a sovereign God as the supplier of all of our needs, both physical and emotional. Too often we are concerned with what is happening in the lives of people around us, when the reality is we only need to be concerned with ourselves. Who we are, and how we feel about ourselves is not dictated or affected by the people, circumstances or experiences happening around us. Our contentment, is found in and through Christ alone!
Philippians 4:11-13 “11I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or want. 13I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”

Doing Good Despite Difficulty

Because you have purposed in your heart and life to serve God and do good things, does not mean that you are immune to opposition, difficulties and struggles. Quite the contrary, we must focus our eyes on Christ remembering what He sacrificed on our behalf; as we face the overwhelming struggles that each day brings. By Him and through Him we will find what we need to make it through each day, accomplishing what we have been called to do for His kingdom.
Hebrews 12:2-3 “2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the Cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

How Long Will You be a Fool?

We are only young once; but we can remain foolishly immature throughout our lives.
Often, people are not open to input. They are generally the people who make the same mistakes repeatedly. If you consistently make the same mistakes in your life, then your immaturity and foolishness begins to take on epic proportions. Insanity has been defined as doing the same thing twice, yet expecting different results each time.
Proverbs 4:18-19 “The path of the righteous is like the light of the dawn, shining ever brighter until the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.”

- Lord, I pray that I/my spouse & children’s souls would pant for you as the deer pants for streams of water.
